Panitikang oral patungo sa pasulat na alamat: Proseso at Produkto

This study was conducted to create legends resulted from a research investigation. Specifically, this sought to record the legend of each barangay in the City of Santa Rosa, Laguna; to analyze the legends based on their kinds, forms and  conveyed profound meaning; and to formulate guidelines in writing legends. Descriptive method, indigenous method, and narrative research were employed in this study.  The legends of seventeen (17) barangays were restructured based on the formulated guidelines utilizing Creswell’s concept on narrative research writing. The process showed that the creation of a legend was based on inquiry, narration, retelling, and interpretation of data from the informants. Furthermore, listening to people and recognizing the existing stories were  emphasized in the reconstruction of legends to verify the accuracy and truthfulness of the given statements. This study recommends that future researchers may conduct an investigation
on the legends of other villages using a different theory in literature. The research will show the process of narrative writing focusing on narration, retelling, and interpretation of formulated story to value the forms of oral literature, such as legends. Moreover, continuously explore oral literature, such as legend, mythology, epic, and folktale to apply the formulated process of narrative research writing. Reintroduce oral literature using storytelling and stories created by a crowd of people, such as legend to relay the concepts to every individual.
