Synopsis

College applicants are not mere numbers in the history of the University.  The quality of college entrants, as measured in one way through the HS grade average, does affect the quality of PNU graduates, and later on their success in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).  In several researches, as cited by University Professor Lolita Nava during her lecture on July 29, 2009, the quality of PNU students has a bearing on whether they will become effective teachers upon graduation.  Given the significance of quality applicants into the University, the Center for Research and Development in Education (CREDE) carries on with its annual report on the profile of college freshmen.
