Synopsis

Over the years, the concept of teacher effectiveness as well as its measurement and prediction has been the subject of an enormous amount of research.  So far studies made include all possibly known variables that are believed to affect or to influence the effective functioning of a teacher when in the act of teaching or when doing other work related to it.  Some of these studies concern themselves with activities normally associated with the teacher as director or facilitator of learning; others pertain to the teacher's responsibilities, such as involvement in student guidance, extra-curricular activities, school-community relations; and still others dealt with the multi-farious roles of the teacher and other related professional responsibilities.
