Synopsis

The main purpose of the study is to develop the students' performance in  mathematics using the four corners and graphic organizer on the mathematics achievement of the selected first year students of STI Ortigas-Cainta. The study used the four corners and a diamond graphic organizer as an instrument strategy employing the quasi experimental design specifically the non equivalent control group design. Instruments used in the study were the achievement test in special products and factoring; students' perception questionnaire and the Four Corners and a Diamond Mathematics Graphic Organizer. The data gathered were interpreted both quantitatively and qualitatively. The result shows that the use of the Four Corners and a Diamond Graphic Organizer on students' performance were determined by comparing the students pretest and posttest scores in Mathematics Performance Test using the t-test and independent means. Students' perceptions on the use of the Graphic Organizer were gathered using the interview questionnaire and corresponding scores were analyzed. The result of the study revealed that after the students were exposed to the use of Graphic Organizer, organizer was an effective tool in learning the concepts and processes in College algebra. Thus, students were helped in learning mathematics better through the use of the Graphic Organizer. The Four Corners and a Diamond Graphic Organizer being  found helpful in better learning in developing students' performance in Mathematics, it is therefore recommended to teachers to use as one of their teaching strategies to improve the performance the students in learning Mathematics.
