Personal, Educational and Occupational Profile and Teaching Aptitude of Philippine Normal University Certificate in Teaching Program Students
Synopsis
Since 1985, the Certificate in Teaching Program (CTP) has been one of the curricular offerings of the Philippine Normal University (PNU). The program provides non-Education graduates who wish to enter the teaching profession, with necessary professional training. Universities/Colleges abroad also offer Teaching Certificate Program/Accelerated Certification for Teaching to graduates or professionals who did not take up Teacher Education course in college but wanted to become certified teachers. Course participants include recent college graduates, career changers and retirees seeking a second career. The program of study usually requires 21 credits for secondary, including nine credits in the core program and 24 credits for elementary, including nine credits in the core program. Additional credits are required for dual certifications in early childhood or special education. With special permission, a candidate may use teaching experience instead of a semester of internship.
