Development of Supplementary Instructional Material on Selected Topics in Geometry and Statistics for Grade Seven Students

Synopsis

The study sought to develop a supplementary instructional material for Grade Seven Students of Dr. Arsenio C. Nicolas National High School in the municipality of Calauag, Quezon. The descriptive-developmental method of research was used. The instructional material was developed based on the least learned topics as showed by Fourth Quarter Examination result. Two instructional modules were developed and evaluated. Module 1 consisted of lessons in Geometry, namely: triangles, polygons, quadrilaterals and circles. Likewise, Module 2 consisted of lessons in Statistics, namely: basic  terms in Statistics, kinds and uses of graphs and problem-solving on graphs. The developed instructional material was evaluated by three mathematics teachers/experts. As to the assessment of Math Teachers/Experts on the proposed Instructional material, the criteria were as follows: objectives, content, language and style and evaluation. The evaluators’ strongly agreed as evidenced by the overall mean values of 4.67, 4.20, 4.60 and 4.67 respectively.
