Non-Intellective Factors: Their Influence on Mathematics Performance of High School Students

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the non-intellectual factors that influence the mathematics performance of fourth-year high school students.This study utilized the descriptive research design. Its main concern was to determine the non- intellective variable. The non-intellectual factors include attitudes , beliefs, motivation, parental involvement, and socio-economic status. To gather the needed data, four research instrument were utilized. These are the mathematics attitude scale, parental involvement scale, mathematics beliefs scale, and socio-economic status questionnaire. The data gathered from the survey questionnaire were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and linear regression analysis. The participants of the study involved one hundred (100) students and their parents who were selected using stratified random sampling. These were selected from different sections of fourth year students of Bulihan National High School. Findings showed that among the non-intellective factors, socioeconomic status significantly affects mathematics performance.
