A Proposed Workbook in General Mathematics for Senior High School Students

The study aimed to develop a proposed workbook in General Mathematics for the Senior High School students. To identify the topics, the researcher reviewed the DepEd competencies of the General Mathematics Curriculum. Based on the identified topics, the workbook was then designed and developed following the constructivist approach and discovery. The developed workbook was validated by five mathematics experts using the Experts Assessment Checklist and Five-point Likert Rating Scale utilized from the studies conducted by Hubilla (2008), Romero (2009), and De Guia (2012) with some revisions. The developed workbook was evaluated according to the variables: objectives, contents, usefulness, clarity, adequacy, and format and design. Based on the recommendations or suggestions of the experts, the workbook was revised. It was found that the workbook could be used by the senior high school students to understand better the concepts of the core subject, General Mathematics, and likewise by the teachers as an aid in teaching General Mathematics for Grade eleven students. It was recommended that the workbook be evaluated by the intended users, both the students and teacher, and that further research be made on its effect on students' mastery of the content.
