Process Assessment of the Student Teaching Program of a State University in Bataan: Basis for Program Enhancement

This research conducted a process assessment of the student teaching program of a state university in Bataan on three selected aspects: (1) operationalization of vision and mission of the university for the program; (2) achievement of program objectives and; (3) adequacy, appropriateness, and effectiveness of systems and procedures of the program. Three groups of stakeholders including student teachers, cooperating teachers, and student teaching supervisor assessed the program on the afore cited variables using a survey instrument. Furthermore, unstructured interviews and observations were conducted to gather qualitative data and to validate the data gathered through the survey. After the analysis of data, it was concluded that the mission and vision of the university were operationalized in the program and that the STP successfully achieved its objectives. Challenges were, however identified and had been used as bases by this researcher in designing a proposed action plan to enhance the student teaching program.
