Students' Conceptual Understanding and Images on Climate Change

The issue of climate change has a real impact in the Philippines and the manifestation of its effects are the changes in rainfall patterns, increase the number of tropical cyclones and occurrence of extreme weather condition. Thus, the study aimed to determine the students' conceptual understanding and images on these concepts a) temperature b) rainfall c) cyclones d) drought e) extreme meteorological condition and e) greenhouse gases. In order to come up with the objective of the study, the researcher developed the Explain and Illustrate Task Instrument (EITI) with a corresponding scoring rubrics that were validated by experts with 4.53 as totally acceptable and 4.28 as a highly acceptable content and face validity means, respectively.
