Teacher Support Material in Physics for the Explicit-Reflective Instruction of the Nature of Science Leading to Scientific Literacy

Nature of science (NOS) is one of the components of scientific literacy that is most abstract, least familiar, and poorly represented in science curriculum materials in the country. In fact, instructional materials addressing the explicit-reflective instruction of NOS are not available for use by the science educators. Thus, the main goal of this study was to find out how the nature of science (NOS) would develop scientific literacy through the developed teacher support material (TSM) for the explicit-reflective instruction of the nature of science for K to 12. To achieve this goal, an educational design was employed to develop and evaluate the TSM.
