Dance Research: Transference and Transformation

Exhibiting evidences or skills to a research, specific to an area called dance, does not seem to have set a place among dance practitioners. In the Philippine school setting, dance is an activity offered in Physical Education, a curricular subject, whereby students participate in learning rhythm or in interpreting the folkdance. More often than not, the activity focuses only on the movement and less discussed are its nature and background. This paper intends to explore how and why transference plays a factor in defining the dance research.
