Assessment of Teaching Competencies of College Chemistry Faculty: Input to a Development Program
Synopsis
This study assessed the teaching competencies of college chemistry faculty in Romblon State University in terms of communication competence, curriculum expertise, instructional organization and planning, classroom management, assessment of student learning, and laboratory competence. It also described the strengths and weaknesses of college chemistry faculty as perceived by themselves, their students, other science faculty, and supervisors in terms of afore cited teaching competencies. It also determined if there is a significant difference between and among the perceptions of the four groups of participants on the level of teaching competencies of the college chemistry faculty.
