Synopsis

This study determined whether the social contextual and psychological constructs, namely: student background, school background, curiosity, and motivation influence mathematical proficiency. Data were gathered from the 645 sixth grade pupils and 15 Mathematics VI teachers through self report questionnaires and a developed mathematical proficiency test.
