The Development and Quality of School Career Guidance Scale (QoSCGS)

The present study developed a scale that measures the quality of school career guidance services by integrating the concept of quality as conformance to standards and the Model of Competency-based Career Guidance Standards adapted from the proposed National Standards for School Counselling Programs in the Philippines (Salazar-Clemeña, 2010). The Quality of School Career Guidance Scale (QoSCGS) consists of six factors namely: (1) developing career awareness; (2) developing employment readiness; (3) acquiring career information; (4) identifying career goals; (5) acquiring knowledge to achieve career goals; and (6) applying skills to achieve career goals. The scale was pre-tested to 539 junior high school students.
