The Phenomenon of Sakto Lang Academic Performance: A Grounded Theory of Incongruent Law Academic Outcome and High Academic Self-Concept

Grounded on the lived-experience of the twenty seven (27) second year college students of economically-disadvantaged families, the present study attempted to construct a theory to describe and explain the high academic self-concept and low academic outcome of participants. In its desire to understand the paradoxical link between high academic self-concept and low academic outcome from the subjective view of the experiencing-students. The study used Qualitative Design specifically employing Grounded Theory.
