Ethical Leadership Practices of Gawad Ginintuang Leon Awardees for Outstanding School Heads Basis for an Ethical Leadership Development Program

This qualitative study was able to determine the practices, challenges, interventions of Gawad Ginintuang Leon Awardees for Outstanding School Heads as they continue to live their lives as models including the various struggles they have experienced while undergoing through the changes they encounter in their day-to-day life. Interview data from the outstanding school heads were examined through. Findings show emerging significant practices of the outstanding school heads, and these are: Model Integrity and Commitment, Nurture Encouraging Environment, Uphold Trust and Fair Treatment, and Encourage Inclusive Involvement and Transparency. The participants depict ethical leadership as an inclusive and all- embracive concept having all the qualities mentioned in the findings that are being practiced and employed by the Gawad Guinintuang Leon Awardees for Outstanding School Heads in their day-to-day experiences. Also, the participants are able to cope with the challenges as awardees and models in the community. This study would help the school and community come up with the ideal qualities of a Gawad Ginintuang Leon Awardee that shall help them come up with the best practices, and deal with challenges with creativity leading to a better leader quality. This study could also serve as a basic skeleton for the school and community in qualifying Gawad Ginintuang Leon Awardees for Outstanding School Heads showcasing best practices, creativity and values of ethical leadership. Eventually, this study will be contributory to help out government projects in managing the community system in choosing leader-models in the country, particularly selecting outstanding school heads from public elementary and secondary schools in the Philippines Social Construct and Interpretivism through looking into the lived experiences of the mentioned awardees embraced all the concepts and ideas in this study towards the formulation of an ethical leadership development program.
