An Instruction-Based Workbook in Writing for Grade Six

The vital role of writing in one’s learning,emphasized even more so in English as a second language classroom,and the neglect of teaching Writing in today’s language arts classes prompted the researcher to propose an instruction-based workbook in Writing for Grade Six pupilsas support for the implementation of the K-12 curriculum.Following the descriptive developmental method of research, the study identifiedthe writing competencies for Grade VI in K to 12 BEP-Language Arts and Multiliteracies Curriculum (English), andapplied the product and process approaches in teaching writingin designingthe writing lessonswhich were thenvalidatedbased on objectives, content, methodology, and physical layout and organization. Then after the try-out of the workbook to target users, minor revisions were done in the physical layout to make it reader friendly.
