The Role of Gender and Type of School on Aggression of Intermediate Level Students

This research aimed to find out the role of gender and type of school in the aggression of the Intermediate Level Students. The respondents were selected using the purposive and convenience sampling. Grade 4 to Grade 6 students of both private and public school were preferred as the sampling of the study. A total of 112 respondents answered the Aggression Questionnaire which consists of Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Anger and Hostility. Male respondents obtained "Very High" and got the highest in Hostility and lowest in Verbal Aggression. Female respondents interpreted as "High" and got the highest in Hostility while lowest in Verbal Aggression. The male and female respondents are both high in Physical Aggression and Hostility. Private school respondents obtained "Very High" wherein the highest score is Physical Aggression while the lowest score is Verbal Aggression. Public school respondents were interpreted as "High" which the highest score is Hostility and lowest score in Verbal Aggression. The private and public school are both high in Physical Aggression and Hostility. The findings of the study were used as a basis for a proposed intervention program towards the aggression of intermediate level students. The researcher is to identify if gender and/or type of school has significant difference with aggression and if not, two highest variables will be the indicators for the intervention.
