Development of Dispositional Positive Emotion Modules for Students

Synopsis

The current study aimed to develop a series of activities developed and validated as a psychoeducational module given to groups and individuals targeting their dispositional positive emotion. The seven modules proposed to savor, cultivate, and promote the seven dispositional positive emotions such as joy, contentment, pride, love, compassion, amusement, and awe. Results revealed that the DPE modules have an excellent rating of its acceptability based on the experts' and students' (as users) judgments. On the other hand, the evaluation of students (as participants) on implemented modules obtained very satisfactorily in terms of Format, Content, and Experience. Based on literature and the students’ reflection of his experience with DPE Modules, it can be concluded that the modules can be an essential tool for school and counseling interventions, which may enhance one's well-being and further lead to flourishing.
