Synopsis

This study was designed to identify how the school principals designed and managed a wellness program. Specifically, it aimed to develop General Guidelines for the Design and Management of Teachers' Wellness Program.

To attain the objectives of the study, a descriptive method has been utilized particularly a case study method of research. Five public elementary schools with implemented teachers' wellness programs were chosen as the participants of the study. Selected stakeholders from the participating schools particularly 5 school principals and 5 teachers who are part of the school planning team were the respondents of the study. Instruments used to gather data were prepared by the researcher and has been validated by the experts in the field of a wellness program. Participants were asked to answer questions through interviews. Results were organized and analyzed to answer the research questions of the study.

From the results of the interview, it was found out that in program design, different strategies emerged to make the program more effective and successful. As to the outcome of the program, happiness, a healthy lifestyle, positive attitude, professional growth, and dimensions of wellness should be considered. In program management, different strategies and best practices emerged. Further, different management theories were used by various school heads. Monitoring and evaluation determine the effectiveness of the program and this can be done through feedbacking, sustainability, creating committee and revision. These best practices and different strategies were used in crafting Proposed Guidelines for the Design and Management of Teachers' Wellness Program.
