Gabay Pangguro sa Pagtuturo at Pagkatuto ng Filipino Bilang Pangalawang Wika sa Dayuhang Mag-Aaral

The study's main purpose is to develop TG's for teaching and to learn Filipino as a second language to foreign students. To address this, first, it aims to identify the needs of the three levels of foreign students in learning and the teacher in teaching Filipino. Second, develop a teacher's guide for teaching Filipino, consisting of the skills, content, strategies, and assessments that foreign secondary school students should achieve at the three levels. And third, assess the appropriateness of the developed teacher guide for the teaching and learning of Filipino by foreign secondary school students. Based on the evaluation, the researcher gave the following recommendations: (1) Conduct a study to determine foreign students' needs regarding the perception or recommendation of adding four years of in a special class in Filipino and also on the coordination and use of various approaches, strategies, activities, exercises in teaching Filipino as a second language that are not found in the study; (2 )Conduct a study on the effectiveness of using appropriate technologies that are effective, interesting, and more conducive to the development of grammatical and communicative ability of foreign students using the topics in the TG's in this research and also on the effectiveness of innovative technology-related assessments that will develop students' communicative ability based on different types of communication and (3) Conduct a further assessment of the appropriateness and effectiveness of the TG's from this research in teaching Filipino as a second language to foreign secondary school students.
