Synopsis

The study analyzed the contemporary Filipino science fiction in English in the ground of Tzvetan Todorov Structuralist Theory of Narrative. The study investigated the structural pattern governing the narratives which served as bases in the development of a Text-Dependent Questions (TDQ) Model for close analytic structural reading of the Filipino science fiction. The stories are taken from the first anthology of Filipino science fiction, Diaspora Ad Astra (2013) by Emil M. Flores and Joseph Frederic F. Nacino.
