Assessment of Strengthened Technical Vocational Education Program-Competency-Based Curriculum (STVEP-CBC): Inputs For The Enhancement Of The Curriculum Implementation

The study aimed to assess the STVEP-CBC and propose inputs for the enhancement of the curriculum implementation. This significant program of the Department of Education aims to equip learners with the right knowledge, skills and attitude to prepare them in their future endeavor. Its implementation was promulgated under DO 41, series of 2008 also known as the Implementation of CBC, CLM and Instructional Modules for 261 Tech-Voc High Schools. The study sought to answer the following questions: (1) How do the teachers and students assess the STVEP-CBC in terms of: Curriculum aims/goals/objectives, Curriculum content or subject matter, Curriculum learning experience - Teaching strategies and Student activities, Instructional materials and school facilities, Assessment strategies? (2) What are the students’ learning outcomes in the curriculum in terms of: students’ General Point Average (GPA), students’ self-assessment and attitude towards TVE? Lastly, (3) What inputs can be proposed for the enhancement of curriculum implementation of STVEP-CBC?
