A Framework for Enhancing Leadership Competencies of Diocesan School Principals
Synopsis
The main purpose of this study is to determine the level of leadership competencies of the principals of a diocesan school system in Quezon Cityinterms of structural, human resource, political and symbolic leadership dimension. It also looked into the possible relationship on how the principals assess themselves in the different leadership dimensions with that of the teachers. Results of the study served as the basis in the development of a framework for next school year to enhance the leadership competencies of diocesan school principals basedon the four dimensions of leadership such as structural, human resource, political and symbolic. This study leaned heavily on the “Four-Framework Approach” by Bolman and Deal which was adapted in the study conducted by Remia Ricabar, entitled “The Leadership Competencies of Public School Managers in the Division of Marikina City “ in 2000. Using a survey method, this study involved six (6) principals and forty-six (46) teachers from the six (6) schools of of a diocesan school systemin Quezon City.
